Welcome to KOKORO TERRACE Park Side Clinic!
'KOKORO (こころ)', a title of the novel by one of the greatest Japanese authors Soseki Natsume, can be translated as 'the heart of things' or as 'feeling' (according to a book review of Kokoro, translated by Edwin McClellan, Gateway Editions). The subject of 'KOKORO' is a state of the spectrum with different levels of human relationships and thus needs to be carefully explored.

Here are some tips for you that might be helpful before and after the session.
Making the first appointment
- 1) Please make the first appointment with email to joseph@kokotera.com
- 2) After making an appointment, we will give you email back and ask you to fill in the Medical Questionnaire. Please fill in your medical information. You can send your Medical Questionnaire via email or print it out and bring it with you for your first appointment.
Before the session
- 1) Please take your shoes off at the entrance. Our clinic is a combination of Western and Japanese styles. Please pack your shoes in the shoe rack and wear the slippers provided near the rack.
- 2) Please show your national health insurance (NHI) or social health insurance (SHI) card at the front desk. This is critically important to pay 30% coinsurance (i.e., you get a 70 % discount) for medical services (including prescription drugs).
- 3) Please note that we don’t accept cash. We accept credit cards/debit cards (VISA and Master) or prepaid IC cards (SUICA, Pasmo, iD, nanaco, WAON, and Edy). Please charge at least \5,000 prior to your visit if you use the prepaid IC cards.
- 4) Please wait in the lobby until your doctor calls your name. The appointment is sometimes delayed due to other patients’ conditions. We would appreciate your patience.
After the session
- 1) Please wait in the lobby until you are called by the front desk. Please pay the medical fee at the desk and receive a prescription, if you are prescribed. We also give you a receipt.
- 2) If you have a prescription, please go to a pharmacy to receive medicine. You can use the prescription in any pharmacy nationwide. We have the two nearest pharmacies just a few minutes’ walk from the right side of the building where we are located.
- 3) We provide online sessions for patients who find it difficult to get access to the clinic. The online session with psychotropic prescriptions is only available for patients from the second time onward in Japan. If you would like to use an online session, please feel free to ask your doctor. We use “LINE Doctor”. Please note that we ask you to pay \ 4,000 for the online session other than the coinsurance medical fee due to the machine maintenance. The transaction can be made with credit cards (VISA, Master, JCB, and AMEX) or LINE Pay.
Thank you for your cooperation! Take care and we hope you get well soon.
